Why, kids, should we be thankful for dubstep each and every day? No words, just video:
The track is “DIY” by Savoy. The visuals might be a contributing factor, but DAMN.

Clock it: 35 minutes out in the world and already posted on waxonwaxonwax. I discovered Shoe Scene Symphony thanks to Myndset (who has some of the best favorites on soundcloud) and they’ve been oh so pleasing to listen to in these early days. First, here’s a highly-touted remix of Steve Aoki’s “Ladi Dadi,” with SSS’s rich signature bass riff and a touch of dub.
You can be kind and buy this on beatport or they can be kind and you can download this by liking their facebook page.
They also released an original track: “Storm is Brewing.” I’m going to have to agree with Mr. Dice:
You know what would nicely compliment this track ? Some nice vocals. Like something between Lady Dady and Levels.
Maybe Sia could be used? Nonetheless, it’s still a solid track and I’m a sucker for songs that build. Same free download applies as above.
If you’ve never listened to Joywave’s 77777 Mixtape, go here right away.
They’re busy preparing a new EP, entitled “Koda Vista,” set to be released on the 27th of March, 2012. For only $5 (!) you can pre-order this highly-anticipated (by Bennett at least) album here. This tune, “True Grit,” is the first to be released and it’s not bad. I’m expecting bigger and better things on the album itself.
14 February, 2012:
I’m probably being hypocritical, but I wish “somebody that I used to know” went unremixed.
Ingredients:
Follow the right people on soundcloud and you can soon find golden tracks falling out of the sky. Today, the recommendations of Joywave led me to Marseille’s own 123Mrk. He recently released an EP entitled “Refined Madness” which is chock-full of bassy rhythms and some really cool tonal melodies. I would say that Untroubled is the winner from the disc, but listen to all of the tracks for yourself to decide.

Found my way to a pair of stellar atmospheric tracks tonight.
Feed Me’s “Relocation” is a progressive masterpiece nearly (that is, until he tops Strobe) as good as the mau5. Feed Me has nearly topped my list since I saw him open for Deadmau5, where he killed it. In this jam, it’s nice to see him relocate from dub and wobble normalcy to a nice reverberated melodic bliss.
Buy the tune on Beatport already.
Back on the ground? Next up is a remix of Kele’s “What Did I Do” by All The Lights. Instead of intense reverb and a soft lead, All the Lights takes us up to the clouds with fluffy bass, a light lead and a pulsing pad. With sporadic, but well executed changes, it’s an enjoyable ride. Compliments aside, what is up with the album cover?

Our good friend Sven has been working on some new stuff, wowow sounds like a good launching pad for his long, illustrious career ![]()
Here is another, a remix of Mistadobalina (Del the Funkee Homosapien) and I’ll Get You (Classix):
This, ladies and gentlemen, is how you debut your new house music. Hooked from the first perfectly-mixed bass hit, I was perfectly content with the potential of hearing more of the same when I reached the halfway point…but all of a sudden, we abruptly ascend to another level at the 3:00 min mark. What I especially love about this Michael Mayeda track is the subtlety with which the glitch samples, dub wobbles and vocoder bits were used. Who says your dubstep tracks have to be overblown anyway? Finally, I should mention that the ending is perfect.
Download the track from Michael Mayeda’s soundcloud posting.
Also, after posting the Sia remixes yesterday, I bet a mashup of this tune with any Sia vocal would be epic. Just sayin’.
He also has a sample up for an upcoming track entitled “7 a.m.” Very excited for this one.
